The Tillard Trophy
This is a long-term inter-course championship, which runs monthly through the summer - flat - season from May to October; and then through the winter - jump - season from November to April.
The AVERAGE SCORE for each racecourse is calculated by dividing the total scores by the number of meetings at each course. Thus it does not matter how many meetings are held.
It is fair for all: Cheltenham or Chepstow; Newmarket or Newton Abbot; York or Yarmouth.
At the end of each month, the course with the highest AVERAGE score is declared the winner at that stage. At the end of the season, the course with the highest OVERALL average score will be awarded the Tillard Trophy to be held thereby for the next six months.
Racing is not just for the rich. Everyone should enjoy it.
